Letter #7 to citizens of BWO

Gm citizens,

Over the past few weeks, there were a few very heated discussions on our discord among citizens.

While I won't comment nor participate in these arguments, one has to remember that these are all people with a shared belief that digital nation-states might some day be a reality. Unfortunately, while people may have some shared beliefs, the conflicting beliefs and values might make coexistence in one space quite difficult.

I'd have loved BWO to filter people based on one belief, but the time has come to expand the process and allow people to start their own citizen nodes. This should allow citizens to decide on which people they'd want to provide citizenships to, and whom not to, based on their preferences.

Thus, BWO as a whole nation, would develop diverse cultures across the world and hopefully, evolve into something better. This also sets up a precedent for political factions as cultures with different views and values should align themselves differently based on their political beliefs.

How politics will play out within a digital nation is yet to be seen, but the nature of these experiments are that it’ll either work or it won’t, and we’re betting that it will. Let’s remember to have fun while it does and respect each other while we’re at it.

Citizens have also voted unanimously to make the nation dashboard private to protect their privacy and prevent random people from pinging them for access to their different nodes.

Since that is being implemented, I'd like to clarify that verification of citizens remains the same, but would be done either through replying to this email or twitter. Citizen Trust score will be maintained and those who participated in the last round of discussions have been awarded an additional score of +5 Trust. Until we're ready to tokenize trust, $Trust scores will remain private. Whether there will be a monthly update of those with highest trust, or would depend on whether citizens request to add a proposal for it.

As we continue adding new members, citizenship will become rarer and harder to qualify for. Make sure those who you invite to BWO has shared values and beliefs and deserves to be a citizen.

Quackamen.

Founder,
BWO.
